BRICS is a group of fast growing economies. Before it was BRIC formed by Brazil, Russia, India, China. In 2010 when South Africa joined the group the name changed to BRICS. In August 2023, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Ethiopia, Egypt, Argentina and United Arab Emirates have been approved to be full members of the group since 1 January 2024 although more than 40 countries wanted to join it.
